Allison Foreman will introduce the program on the Watermill Wine Bar on N. Wenatchee Ave. The actual presentation will be by Arieca (pronounced Erica) Deverey, business development manager for Watermill. She designed and renovated the space they are in.
Arieca Joined Watermill Winery in March 2021 as The Direct-to-Consumer Brand Manager, leading the opening of Watermill's newest tasting room, "Watermill on the Ave."
We will again be meeting this week at the Wenatchee Valley College Campus in the Jack and Edna Maguire Conference Center. Enter from Fifth Street (pictured).

PAUL HARRIS FELLOWS. Three members were recognized and presented the coveted Paul Harris Fellowship Award (PHF). The award is earned by donations of $1,000 to the Rotary Foundation (TRF) or bestowed as a gift from other Paul Harris Fellows who transfer their own PHF points (earned by their own donations).

NEW DUES STRUCTURE. P/E Jill Leonard explained the new dues structure beginning in her presidential year, which was approved by the board on May 10. A portion of all dues (10%) will automatically be assigned to the Community Outreach Committee (Joe St. Jean, chair). We will also attempt reinstate a new corporate membership opportunity, a better version of past practice.
HAITI CLEAN WATER. PP Kory Kalahar explained how he has overseen (with PP Bill Murray) our exit from the Milot project and shifted to the HANWASH program being led by Carin Smith.

NICK'S BRICKS. Saturday, May 21, 2022, will be the 4th year of this event in Wenatchee, Washington. Nick’s Bricks is an inclusive large event where children young and old gather to play and have fun with Lego “bricks”. It has become a Premier event at the Pybus Public Market. SEE COMPLETE DETAILS.

DISTRICT CONFERENCE
We experienced a wonderful conference over the past weekend, beginning Thursday night at the Wenatchee Museum/Cultural Center with a salmon feed presented by the local Wenatchi Tribe, led by elder Randy Lewis, who also gave another excellent presentation on Saturday morning at Wenatchee Convention Center.
Friday was packed with local tours and activities, ending with visiting Rotarians being hosted for excellent dinners at the homes of our Rotarians, where life-long friendships were made.
During Saturday lunch, Pete Van Well brought to the stage our special polio hero Carmen Bossenbrock and told the crowd all about her history working with polio patients (and Dr. Cadman) in Wenatchee during the 1950s. He then surprised everyone by presenting a PHF award to Carmen's caregiver Alice Nieman. Before lunch, a group of club members gathered around Carmen and Alice for photos. Other photos will be posted on our website ASAP.
Many awards were presented to individuals for service to Rotary and/or the community, including the "Service Above Self "award from our club to Elizabeth Thompson, president of our Interact club.
At the Saturday evening semi-formal banquet, a surprise flash mob of StageKids performed 2 song/dance numbers to the delight of all 200+ attendees (See video HERE and HERE). These are from their upcoming show Seussical Jr., June 15-18, at Wenatchee HS.
