Woody Lotts, Executive Director of Numerica Performing Arts Center (PAC), and member of Wenatchee Sunrise Rotary Club.  After describing his youth in a small Arizona town, and some of his education and early career summarized by his philosophy of jumping into "the deep end of the pool", Woody shared what the Numerica PAC has done in the first year after going dark during Covid-19 pandemic.  He also discussed the full season of shows coming and the move to connect with our Spanish speaking community.  Additionally, Woody expanded on a possible partnership with the Rotary Clubs of the Wenatchee Valley.  Woody is a highly energetic and entertaining speaker.

CONNECTIONS.   Many Rotarians and friends gathered on Tuesday after Carmen's memorial service to share memories of our beloved polio hero.

NOTICE:   Inbound exchange student Rosario will NOT be arriving on August 17 at Pangborn. She is flying into SeaTac and her first host family Joel and Julie Banken will be picking her up.
IMAGINE ROTARY -  Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, created by a young artist in 1928, eventually became Micky Mouse, leading to the Walt Disney empire, employing many "Disney Imagineers".  President Jill likened this evolution to Rotary International, which began from the first Rotary club of only 4 members.  We as Rotarians have the power of our imagination to build great things things as did Walt Disney.  "Let us imagine Rotary together today and keep it going."

NEW MEMBER PROPOSAL.   The board has approved the application of former RYE* student Katie Blair, sponsored by PP Kory Kalahar.  She was outbound 2006-07, to Nice, France.  Photo is from her amazing story in the Appleseed of April 02, 2020, when she was living in NYC near Broadway, a victim of COVID, from which she still suffers.
She will become a member if there are no objections after two Appleseed mentions.  Make comments here.

---  DEAR APPLESAUCE  ---

Dear Applesauce:  Do you know if the time on the movie boxes include the previews, credits, and special features, or just the time for the movie itself?
VHS Vivian

Dear Viv.   If you are so old that you still have movies in boxes, the run time should also factor in frequent bathroom breaks (and possibly an extra hour or two just to figure out how to get the TV on the right channel for the VCR)!
