Rotary is a volunteer organization of 1.2 million business and professional leaders united worldwide to provide humanitarian service and help build goodwill and peace. About 32,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas conduct projects to address today's challenges - including illiteracy, disease, hunger, poverty, lack of clean water, and environmental concerns - while encouraging high ethical standards in all vocation.

The Downtown Club of Wenatchee, Washington carries the same goals both globally and locally. We are focused on improving the live of everyone for the betterment of humanity.

The story of the Wenatchee Rotary Club from its founding on January 11, 1921, to the Golden Anniversary of Rotary International on February 28, 1955 was compiled with the cooperation of all past Presidents and many other members of the Wenatchee Rotary Club. A Golden Anniversary Project with Fred M. Crollard as Chairman and O.B. Shay and Ralph V. Wood as Editors.

The 1966 Revisions covering the additional 11 years from 1955-56 through 1965-66 were accomplished by Fred M. Crollard as Chairman and R.F. Jones as Editor. The 1992 revision includes the 26 years from 1965-66 through 1991-92 through the efforts of Walt Wittgow, Chairman and the following members of the History committee: Carl Petit, Bill Bumps, Don Garvik and John McDarment.
