At the June 30 presidential roast and installation, the club received a surprise gift in honor of our new president Jim Russell.   Jim has written some thoughts members may wish to read....

I’d like my children to get recognition for the $500 donation to Wenatchee Rotary they stunned me with last night. My daughter-in-law, Sheri Russell, like the others in our family. charmingly imaginative and thoughtful gift giver.  When Sheri, our son’s wife, asked me what I wanted for my birthday on July 2nd, I said I really didn’t want her or them to spend any money on me, but she was typically resourceful and got me to admit I enjoyed the t-shirts she had given me over the years from her favorite charities.  So I said pick one of your favorite charities and get a gift from them.  She asked me what t-shirt size I wore and I told her.

The next thing I know is Frank Clifton is reading a letter to me in front of the members of the Club at the Presidential Roast that he conspired to receive a letter from our kids and their spouses.  The letter was attached to a check donated to Wenatchee Rotary in my name.  I was even more stunned to learn they had contributed $500, a stupendous amount more than a t-shirt.

She had gone on line and found our website and discovered the scheduled roast and installation of me as president, so she called Frank and made arrangements to send an express mail package.

Please recognize their gift to be split equally between the Rotary International Foundation and the Wenatchee Rotary Foundation in the name of the children and spouses of the Karen and Jim Russell family, Sheri and Keith Russell, Lynne Russell and Pamela and Eduardo Bejerano.
