What aspects of RYLA appealed to you most?

  • The competitions and getting up in front of the group. Working with everyone. All the group things.
  • Interactive aspects and personal stories during the sessions. The positive attitudes of leaders and mentors. RYLAthon and cruise.
  • Leadership development, speaking skills, Canada
  • The open atmosphere. It made communication and conveyance of ideas very easy and made people feel more comfortable with being themselves and showing their full potential.
  • How powerful some of the sessions were to me.
  • How everyone was so welcoming.
  • Lots of team discussions, activities. Learn how to use different strengths to your advantage.
  • The days were amazing because everything was appealing to me.
  • The boat race and RYLAthon were both a lot of fun. Learning some new leadership skills and spending time with new people and mentors.
  • Meeting new people and learning how to better understand yourself and express yourself.
  • Boat building was a blast.
  • Really enjoyed some of the challenging subjects (i.e. ethics and learning about personality types). Boat cruise in the thunderstorm. The FUN events (RYLAthon, boat race etc). Presentations and group discussions. Campfire and karaoke.

  • The practical ways leadership skills are applied. The maturity of this young group of adults. The confident and energetic RYLA members.

  • At this stage of our lives we're about defining ourselves, realizing our core values and beliefs. To be placed in an environment which forces us to think about these issues is extremely beneficial.
  • Team bonding and learning how to speak in public. Ethics and June's presentations were great
  • Getting to know all the different qualities that people have and what makes a great leader. The network of friends is fantastic
  • I really enjoyed myself. I got a lot of information that I know I will take with me. This is a weekend I will take with me for the rest of my life.
  • I just want to thank everyone including RYLA for giving me the opportunity to come to this neat leadership conference because it made me understand myself and how I can change lives out there in the world.
