EDWARD A. (Ed) SAGE
Ed has been a Wenatchee Rotarian since 1986, and is a Paul Harris Sustaining Member.
Ballard High School in Seattle and Yakima Community College were followed by the University of Washington where Ed earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1955. After U.S.Army service he joined the Federal Forest Service, working as a civil engineer at the Wenatchee National Forest, from which he retired in 1989. Ed is a state licensed Civil Engineer and Land Surveyor and continues periodically working in those professions.
Ed and Rose were married in 1953 and adopted three children, a boy and two girls. They have raised their grandchild, Anthony, since age of one. He is now fifteen and a snow-boarding Sophomore at Wenatchee High School.
Working with the Community Service Committee of Wenatchee Rotary, Ed worked on Rotary's Lincoln Park Children's Play Village and coordinated two Rotary projects at Camp Zanika Lache for Campfire. The trail and the Rotary Cabin improvement projects at the camp on Lake Wenatchee are now considered 'demonstration projects', showing other groups what is possible in the needed rehabilitation of the camp. Ed continues his community service work with Rotary by guiding and managing the restoration of a room and adjoining bathroom at "The Bruce Hotel - Transitional Housing", in downtown Wenatchee.
