Bill Monnette
Bill Monnette is a partner in the law firm of Monnette, Rechtin and Cawley, having graduated from the University of Washington Law School in 1978. Earlier formal education included grade and high school at Boise, Idaho and Whitman College in Walla Walla.
Bill and Sheryl have been married for 18 years and have 2 children attending Wenatchee High School:
- Jess, 17, is a Senior.
- Terese, 15, is a Sophomore.
Both are involved with the school music programs including marching band, jazz band and choir.
The family is active in the Trinity Church in Wenatchee, where they get to sing the Psalms as if they were in the choir, since the church doesn't have a choir.
The family enjoys outdoor recreation including skiing at Mission Ridge, playing tennis, bicycling the loop and an occasional car camping trip.
Bill also enjoys a golf game when time allows, as well as fly-fishing, reading and playing the guitar. As a UW Law School alumni, Bill is a true "Go Dawgs!" Husky fan. If you want to know whether Bill graduated Whitman magna cum laude with honors, ask Bill -- he modestly instructed the writer to "Leave it out."
Sheryl continues as a homemaker and is Assistant Teaching Leader of the Women's Bible Study Fellowship evening class in Wenatchee.
Bill's law practice is broadly based, covering most legal problems an individual or a business might encounter, including:
- Real property transactions and litigation
- Estate planning and probate
- Commercial and business litigation
- Insurance Claims
- Divorce and support
Commenting about Rotary, Bill says, "I have very much enjoyed being a Rotarian for over 10 years. In addition to being an avenue for meaningful service, Rotary has introduced me to many fine people in various fields with whom I might not otherwise have ever crossed paths. I think Wenatchee Rotary represents the best of our community and I hope to have many more years of membership and service."
Bill was a member of the Board of Directors in the mid 1990s and has chaired the Interclub and Community Youth Committees.
