John C. McDarment

When John and Betsy married 42 years ago, as he graduated from the University of Missouri with a major in Marketing, could she have realized she was marrying a future banker, developer, contractor, printer, retailer and community builder?

His career started with 13 years at Seattle First National Bank, becoming an Assistant Vice-President and Trust Officer, after which he formed McDe's Construction Company, devoting two years to developing and building East Wenatchee's 42 unit Canyon Creek Condominium.

Then, during the ten years from 1978 to 1988, he owned and operated the historic "Johnson's Inc.," the office supply business and buildings and "The Great American Print Shop." He converted the print shop to "McDee's Art Center" in 1988.

Since then, as he continues the management of his "McDee's Art Center," he has also designed and remodeled 50,000 s.f. of retail space and, for two years, did financial planning, marketing and management of personnel for Stewart Construction Company.

John also owns and operates the Wenatchee Plan & Copy Center, Inc. & McDee’s Development Co. LLC

Most Wenatchee Rotarians know John as publisher of the Appleseed for the last 25 years and as co-chair of the "All-Aboard Auction" in 1999, which raised $90,000 for Rotary projects.

Many may also know that John is a "Paul Scea Fellow" and that both John and Betsy are "Paul Harris Fellows."
