Larry Frack
FRACK - THE EARLY YEARS!
Larry was born in Honolulu and went to grade school there. His parents were school teachers.
One Sunday Larry witnessed an event that is forever impressed in his mind...December 7th, 1941...when he watched the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, from his home on Pacific Heights! He was 13 years old.
Larry remembers the excitement of living in a war zone, the Territory of Hawaii, during that period of history.
In 1945, with World War 2 nearing the end, the Frack family moved to the States on the Permanete. On the eight day voyage to San Francisco they were accompanied by two destroyer escorts, since Japanese submarines were still active in the Pacific.
The Frack family settled in North Seattle where Larry attended Roosevelt High, Everett Junior College and the University of Washington.
THE MILITARY
During Larry's military service he served four years in the US Air Force, attached to a Troop Carrier Squadron at Larson in Moses Lake, then on to Donaldson Air Force Base in South Carolina, assigned to a C-124 Globemaster as a crew chief, In-flight Crew Chief and was in training as a Flight Engineer at the time of discharge.
"Upon discharge, I went to work for the then Standard Oil of California in Seattle. I managed several service stations in the area. was an instructor, trainer, a retail supervisor and my last assignment was as a Territory Manager. I spent 36 years with the Chevron Oil Company and have very positive feelings of the wonderful working years."
Larry is now retired and working part-time at North Central Petroleum in Wenatchee, a Chevron jobber, and as Airport Security at Pangborn Airport. His philosophy of "keeping busy" is personified by his filing for, and being elected to:
